Twisting History: Lessons in Balloon Sculpting

-

balloon sculptures
Product DescriptionTwisting History was written to answer the most common questions about balloon sculpting: 1. “How can I learn to make funny things out of balloons?” 2. “Can you make anything besides dogs and cats?” 3. “How do balloon animals fit into the evolutionary history of the world?” You will find in this book: 1. Step-by-step instructions for creating sculptures from balloons. These include common figures, as well as many new creations. 2. Ideas for using balloons to entertain audiences. 3. An illustrated, and perhaps slightly “twisted,” history of balloons and balloon animals. Endless possibilities exist for those that learn the art of balloon sculpting: 1. Impress your friends. 2. Embarrass your friends. 3. Get free food.

Question for Bangladeshi’s only –what do you think of my wedding ideas? And how would u like YOUR wedding to b?

-

I’m 17 yrs old and Bangladeshi, I live in the UK and when I’m older and I decide to get married I would like my wedding to be different from the way Asian weddings are. Unique but obviously Asiany as well.

•Instead of a red sari I want to wear a ivory one with a long train and studded with Swarovski or something,
• I don’t want to wear gold jewellery but diamonds from Tiffanies or somewhere nice like that, a beautiful necklace, earring, bracelet and ring. I want my ring to be from Tiffanies to. I would like to wear Jimmy choo shoes.
•The groom has to wear a nice suit like Hugo boss or Armani.
•I want to only invite 60 people so 30 each of mine and the grooms close friends and family and obviously I’m going have a security guard outside to not let anyone not invited in.
•The wedding will be in a beautiful hotel or something and in the summer.
•There will be a 4 course meal including dessert and everyone has to eat with a knife, fork an spoon.
•The place will be decorated in flowers like lily and orchids and roses (I actually haven’t thought of how I want my wedding to be decorated but there will be no crap tinsel, coloured balloons and party poppers)
•I want a nice car or limo to drive me to the place I’m going to get married and back or one of those 1960s cars. I want my makeup done by a proper good white makeup artist, not Asian as I don’t like how Asian people do makeup even though I’m Asian.
• I want both of us to pay for the wedding and I’m going to choose my dress and jewellery.
•I would want to play only Islamic music.

So what do you think of the way I want my wedding, it’s going to be classy and elegant, I think. Do you think this sounds nice and it would be nice and different from the way Asian weddings are? By the way my dad has been saving from the day I was born for my wedding so money isn’t a problem and I’m going to get married when I’m like over 28. obviously I want me and my husband to pay for it each and with our money as well as help from our parents.

spoken like a true young romantic girl.

red saris are barely worn any more even by asian women at their weddings. wedding saris come in pure white and in ivory white or gold or other lovely colors these days.

tiffany diamonds are pretty expensive, but if you will take a look around you at modern western weddings, the brides do not wear a great deal of jewelry. normally either a necklace or earrings, not both and if they wear bracelettes at all, they are normally costume jewerly.

your ring being from tiffany’s will be up to your fiance. he is the one who chooses your ring.

for a formal or even a semi-formal western style wedding, even those with an asian flare, the men normally wear tuxedos. they normally rent them from local shops rather than buying them, but if you want him to wear a suit, i suppose that is okay.

you don’t need security guard to make sure no one who isn’t invited will not come to your wedding. people don’t go about crashing weddings.

since you live in the uk, by law you can only have your wedding in a place which is licensed to do weddings by the uk government. there are many wonderful wedding venues in the uk, among them are hotels, estates, castles, gardens, art galleries and various places. you can choose any of the licensed venues you wish to choose.

if your father has been saving for years for your wedding, then he is the one who will be paying for it. traditionally the brides father pays for the wedding.

nothing about this is actually unusual or different except your choice of having only islamic music.

Questions about ‘made using’.?

-

I have a question about the grammar.

What are the setences composed without "by"? Shouldn’t they be "……made by using………"

The slides were most likely made using Power Point.
Seven food made using microbes.
Incredible sculptures made using everyday items.
What are food made using fungi?
Crafts made using balloons.

And I also found some sentences written in this way –
Famous movie characters made by using Lego.
More street art made by using shadows.

?? What’s the different by using only "made using" and "made by using"?

Thank you.
Thank you for the answers. And I wonder here ‘by’ can be omitted just like "in" can be omitted as it is in "I am busy (in) working", ????

Here I question is on the grammar.

Don’t mess with the little words—they will eat your lunch—and the basic verbs like "to make" have their own rules. "To make" includes a "by" implicitly; the AHD has it, "To bring into existence by shaping, modifying, or putting together material; construct." "By" is neither idiomatic nor necessary in your sentences. Even if "by" were possible there, it would be redundant. Your examples with "by" are not good English.

Your sentence "I am busy in working" is not English. It would be "at working", if anything, but even that is strange. There is no word missing in "I am busy working."

Table decorations at wedding reception?

-

Does anyone have any unique ideas as to what to put in a table decoration? I’m using either a bubble vase or a round one. My balloons will be secured in the centre of the vase but i’m trying to think of something really unique but not trashy to fill the rest of the vase with. Any ideas much appreciated.

Fill with colored water, feathers, silk flowers or ivy vines. Or you can do the glass rocks, sea glass, sand or colored sand.
